ODIN

SMARTPLANE'S FIXED-WING UAV

Odin is SmartPlaneā€™s new fixed-wing UAV that is built for mass production. Manufacturing and launch will take place in 2025. In Wara PS, our offer is to rent Odin out as a platform for testing and developing different payloads. During the process we provide support and help with adaptations which gives us a win-win situation as we learn more and can meet different needs.

The Odin UAV is a small fixed-wing platform (1.2 m wingspan) capable of performing missions requiring long range and endurance (up to 1.5 hours of flight time depending on payload). It can be equipped with a range of different sensors such as a stabilized gimbal camera and video link for search & rescue or surveillance tasks, photogrammetric cameras for aerial mapping and surveying, thermal infrared cameras (radiometrically calibrated) for thermographic mapping. However, other types of sensors and systems could also be integrated into the payload bay (up to 500 gram of disposable payload).

The flight controller is a variant of the Pixhawk open hardware running ArduPilot firmware. Either QGroundControl or Mission Planner can be used for flight management and mission planning. It can be directly interfaced with the Wara-PS Core system using MAVLINK messaging for command and control and RTSP protocol for video downlink as a level 2 agent, referred to WARA-PS Core System.
