Academic collaborations - For researchers

Enabling research

Join us as a researcher

If you believe in enhancing public safety through AI and autonomous systems, join our mission to advance technology for a safer and more resilient society. If you have a project that aligns with WARA-PS, do not hesitate to contact us.

Our main research areas include:

  • Human AI Teaming
  • Collaborating Agents
  • Vehicle Control
  • Perception
  • Cyber Security

Whether your project is already affiliated with Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) or not, we would love to get in touch. Let’s discuss how your project can integrate with and benefit from WARA-PS.

As part of the broader WASP initiative, WARA-PS supports researchers, including NEST-, Wallenberg Launch Pad (WALP)-, PhD- and collaboration projects. These WASP programs offer substantial backing in terms of funding, resources, and opportunities for collaboration, laying a solid foundation for your research project.

Possibilities for PhDs

PhD-students

WASP offers calls through witch it is possible to apply for research positions and projects.

WASP offers PhD positions, open to candidates from both the academy and industry. As a WASP PhD student, you will have the opportunity to work closely with WARA-PS, applying your research to real-world challenges and benefiting from the expertise of leading academics and industries. WARA-PS not only offers a chance to push the boundaries of technology but also a way to engage in a thriving community that values innovation and collaboration.

For more detailed information on the application process, eligibility, and the support provided, read more on the WASP webpage. If you have any questions regarding how you can connect your research application with WARA-PS, you can always get in touch with us.

Wallenberg Launch Pad (WALP)

WALP-program

In addition to PhDs and research projects, WARA-PS also collaborate with WALP. In the WALP-program researchers are offered support in exploring and validating what impact their idea could make in industry or in society.

By applying to WALP, you could gain access to personalized innovation coaching, research validation grants, and a platform to pitch your projects, accelerating your journey from concept to real-world application.

Multidisciplinary world-leading research environments and networks

NEST

In addition to PhD- and WALP projects, WASP also enable NEST projects. The NEST initiative is designed to address high-priority research challenges that require a combined effort from a multidisciplinary team to create solutions with significant international impact and relevance to Swedish industry.

By applying to become a NEST, your team can receive funding from WASP and support from WARA-PS. A NEST typically consists of a team of 3-5 investigators, leveraging their diverse expertise to foster innovation and solve problems that have a profound academic, industrial, and societal impact.

The NEST program not only boosts your project’s resources, but WARA-PS can also enhance its visibility and potential for success, strengthening Sweden’s position as a leader in technology and innovation.
